This harness, developed
by Consie and Roger Powell, is for use primarily with a wagon, cart
or travois, but can also be used with a sled or toboggan. This harness
features the same neck design as our sledding harnesses to allow the
dog free movement. The extremely adjustable forward cinch (girth) has
loops for shafts. The rear cinch (girth)(use optional) helps hold the
D-rings and side straps in place as well as keeping the harness in
place when the cart pushes up against it. Both
cinches (girths) fasten with Delrin side release snaps. Adjustable
traces are included. Side release snaps on shaft
loops to allow dog to be quickly disconnected from cart.
Standard sizes for
siwash cart harness are in 1" increments
from 18" to 32" (this corresponds to the neck size) .
Harnesses under 18" and over 32" are
custom sizes and not returnable. |

SIWASH
CART HARNESS WILCZEK
STYLE
This variation of our tried and true Siwash Cart Harness was developed
in conjunction with Bill and Barbie Wilczek of Wilczek Woodworks
(www.wilczekwoodworks.com).
Bill and Barbie did much of the testing on the design changes themselves
and arranged to have additional people give this modified style further
testing. The changes in this harness are shown in the photos. The
forward cinch (girth) is attached to 2 side release snaps sewn into
place about 2-1/2" from the top of the neck. The snaps have
neoprene padding under them and the neck padding is extended to where
the webbing is sewn. This change allows the girth to completely drop
off when the snaps are released while still allowing a snug fit of
the shaft loops. This arrangement also helps greatly when using the
dogs as a team with a single center shaft. The girth resists slipping
sideways with the weight just on one side of the dog. The second
change allows the d-ring to be adjusted in two directions˜raising
the d-ring up the flank or moving towards the head or tail of the
dog. This allows you to "fine-tune" the fit of the harness.
This harness will come with a Wilczek label and is available in the
same sizes and colors as the regular Siwash.
Standard sizes
for this harness are in 1" increments from 18" to
32" (this corresponds to the neck size) .

| This tracking
and road work harness is adjustable within the following range of sizes.
Harness neck should be adjusted so the shoulder pad fits firmly at the
base of the dog's neck while the padded D-ring is on the dog's breastbone.
The cinch may be adjusted forward or back by sliding through the bottom
center strap. Once adjusted, the harness will stay in this position
until changed. Delrin side release snaps on both sides of the cinch
make it slip on easily. Neoprene padding under the d-rings, side release
snaps, and adjustment buckles on the shoulders to protect the dog |

| The fitted tracking harness is for search and rescue or hard pulling
tracking dogs. This harness has a fitted neck and breastplate just like

Pulk Harness
or Short Bodied Sledding Harness

This harness has a fitted neck and breastplate just like our X-back and
Recreation Harnesses. In addition, it has a cinch to support the shafts
on a pulk and an attachment point on each side to clip to the shafts.
The harness comes with rope ties on each side but metal d-rings may be
substituted by request. This harness may be used as a short bodied sledding
harness by clipping your tugline to the rope tie on one side of the harness.

This traditional singletree harness is used for weight pulling,
sledding, and heavy-duty hauling. Frequently, it is used in wheel position
(near the sled) because the low-draft hitch is more level with the gangline.
This harness comes with
a hardwood spreader kit. The spreader bar should be slightly wider than the
rear of the dog. You may cut the bar
if needed. The spreader bar should be touching the rear of the dog when the
harness is in a relaxed position. Put the screws provided through the fabric
and into the pre-drilled spreader bar.
The height of the hitch
is adjustable, so the load is always held in place for maximum pull. The
hitch ring uses limited side slip to compensate for off-center loads, and
the backstraps feature the same sliding "X" as the
X-back harness. See options to add long distance padding or reflective strips.
